Here's a sampling of the yachts I've worked on over the years.

Trans-atlantic

  • M/V "Talisman Maiton", 183' Proteksan Turquoise, Fall 2014, Spring 2015.

  • M'V "Deja Vu", 165' Feadship, Spring 2014.

Each trip (3 crossings) was over 4,500 nautical miles; Bahamas to Italy and Italy to Antigua.  On "Deja Vu" I was third engineering watch and was in the engine room for nearly 175 hours.  Aboard "Talisman Maiton" I was relief 2nd officer and at the helm during all my watches responsible for the navigation and safety of the vessel.

T/T "HEMISPHERE"

A custom 54' sportfish as a tender!  I picked this boat up in St. Thomas after it was shipped over from the Med on Seven Stars yacht transport.  I've done many load/unloads from Seven Stars and Dockwise.

The previous season, after outfitting the boat from scratch, I delivered the boat from West Palm to Grenada in 10 days - only 7 travel days (we stopped for weather for two and rested for one)!  Over 1,700 nautical miles.

The custom F&S hull was amazing...a fantastic ride.  Left to right, lifting off Seven Stars, on the dock in Grenada with the owner, and with Gavin Bladen with "Hemisphere" in the background.

Sailing

I've been sailing since 1993 having both captained and delivered sail boats offshore between New England and the Caribbean.  Lars Ruud (pictured below leaving Savannah, GA) and I have worked together many times over the past 15 years.  I captained "Bandera" (far right below) for almost 2 years and sailed her over 10,000 miles between New England and the Caribbean.

"AERIE", 124' DELTA

Six months aboard this gorgeous, U.S. built yacht as First Officer/Dive Instructor.  Cruised Bahamas and Caribbean for winter season and delivered boat to Port Jefferson, NY.

"MOONLIGHTER", 55' AZIMUT

Over 14 years helping these owners w/ their yachts.  They had this Azimut for 6 years and when they were finally ready to move on, we delivered the boat from Sag Harbor to Ft. Lauderdale and managed the boat through to its delivery to its new owners.

East coast deliveries

Nearly 30 north/south deliveries along the eastern seaboard on boats from 32' to 124'.  The same clients, year in and year out.  Pictured here left to right: the 87' Oceanfast "Shacar", "Shacar's" wheelhouse, a 93' Hargrave, and early morning on the ICW.

"CUAN LAW", 105' CUSTOM SAILING TRIMARAn

More than 4 years, 176 weeks of charter w/ 20 guests and 7 crew, 2,500 dives, and 30,000 nautical miles.

Two years as first mate, 2 years as captain.

Three major hurricanes (Bertha, Erica, and Marilyn) and countless tropical storms.

Four yard periods, four BVI boat shows, four Antigua Race Weeks.

Unblemished safety record considering over 24,000 dives conducted by individual divers.

"Scout", 1930 72' Defoe Boat Works

Got to play w/ this for a month last fall (2014).  All mahogany planked.  Restored by McMillen Yachts in Newport, RI.
