The company offers small boat owners an opportunity to defray annual operating expenses through the charter of their vessel. The company organizes and maintains the vessels, arranges for the terms of the charter with clients, and operates the vessels during charter.
Masters & Mates, Inc. 2000 - Present. Captain and proprietor of small yacht management business providing specialized, customer oriented services to clients without captains. Services include captaining, deliveries, project management, weekly upkeep. Serving original stable of clients for 14 years. Both private and charter from day to week long. Delivery and relief work. Vessels range in size from 36’ - 183'. Average 180 days captaining per year.
Ferretti Group America. 2009 - Present. Freelance captain assisting with deliveries, customer and company sea trials, loading/unloading boats to Dockwise / Seven Stars, and closing transactions. Extensive experience with Ferrettis, Pershings, and Rivas based in Sag Harbor, NY, Newport, RI, and both coasts of Florida.
M/V "Aerie". Oct 2009 - May 2010. First Officer and Dive Instructor on 124’ Delta tri-deck motor yacht. Private/charter. Responsibilities included: piloting boat, managing deck, assisting with maintenance and engineering duties, organizing charter and dive operations, safety planning.
Blue Water Divers, BVI. 1 Nov - 30 April 2003 - 2008 (5 years). Captain and PADI dive instructor. Provided daily dive guide and dive instruction. Led over 1,250 dives in 5 winters with average of 4-6 guests per dive and countless dive courses. Instructed new crew in boat handling, navigation, local dive areas.
S/V "Bandera". April 1998 - Jul 1999. Captain. Responsible for all aspects of running Sparkman & Stephens 57’ designed, Hinckley built yawl. Cruised New England in summer and northeast Caribbean in winter. Responsible for all onboard maintenance and managing boat through yard period. While aboard, boat attended Antigua boat show; 5 charters while captain.
S/V "Cuan Law". June 1993 - September 1997. Captain/First Mate/Head Dive Instructor. 105’, 20 passenger/7 crew live aboard dive vessel. Two years as First Mate then promoted to Captain. In both positions, responsible for all aspects of running/managing boat and dive operations. Participated in over 160 weeks of charter and 2,000 dives ranging from BVI to Grenada. Managed boat through hurricanes Marilyn, Erica, and Bertha. All maintenance conducted by crew while in service. Managed vessel during 4 yard periods. Participated in 4 BVI charter boat shows.
Rainbow Visions Photography, BVI. 1991 - 1993. Underwater videographer. Filmed, edited, and sold underwater videos to guests diving the wreck of the RMS Rhone. In 20 months sold videos valued at more than $60,000. Completed 1,200 dives.
Harry Mackowe Real Estate Co., NYC. 1987 - 1991. Assistant to the VP for Advertising and Marketing. Responsibilities included copy writing advertising materials, production of monthly mailing to residential and commercial real estate brokers with desktop publishing program PageMaker, and creation and maintenance of direct mail lists. Utilized AutoCad to input all of companies architectural plans into computer for linking to a lease management system.
